The Power of Testimonials

May 2, 2013

testimonial_iconHi All:

More than half of online video viewers (57%) share links to the video they find with others, and three in four (75%) say they receive links to watch video that others have sent to them.

– Pew Internet Research, 2007

If you want a video on your website but you’re unsure of what to start with, may I make a suggestion.  Use client testimonials.  Nothing tells a visitor to your website more about you and your company than a good testimonial.  The viewer can see and hear for themselves what your clients say about you.  There are a couple of ways to do testimonials.

The first one here is a simple testimonial where the client does a short, direct talk directly into the camera.

This second testimonial includes video of the client at the place of business, using the service.

You can also use a celebrity in your testimonials.  Famous athletes are usually popular.

It may be tempting to just take your personal consumer grade camcorder and record some testimonials.  Please consider hiring a professional to do this.  A professional can make sure the lighting is right and the subject isn’t back lit.  A professional can make sure the sound is at the right levels.  A professionally edited testimonial will make it look like you care about your image and reputation.

If you have any questions about video testimonials and how they can help your website and your business, please feel free to contact me.  Who knows, maybe you’ll be in a testimonial for my company!

And there you go.

First Blog of 2013

April 8, 2013

Hi All:cindy_v_video_logo

Welcome to my blog.  I’ve neglected it for a time.  But with my retirement from MPTV in June, I’ll be concentrating more on my video business.  I got distracted recently with a network marketing business.  i worked my ass off trying to make it successful.  I had done my presentation to over 185 people.  Many were waiting to see if the program I was working under was going to work for me.  if it did, they would join.  But the company cut me off with no warning.  Too many people believe I was getting too close to my goal and the company didn’t want to pay out.  Lesson:  don’t believe in anyone but yourself.  With my video business, I can trust the work I do.  i can trust my own success.

Cindy V Video is a small production company.  I do mainly three things. 1. Event taping like weddings, school plays, corporate meetings or sporting events.  2. Videos for websites.  If you have a business, I come to your business and tape you and your employees doing what it is that you do.  I edit the video and give it to you as a Quicktime file for your website.  3. Tape to DVD transfers.  I take your tapes (VHS, S-VHS, VHS-C, 8mm, Hi8, mini DV, and even beta) and put them onto a DVD.  I can do other stuff with video, but this is what I do most of the time.

I hope you follow this blog.  I’ll be posting later this week as I am attending a bridal marketing meeting on Tuesday and then I’ll be videotaping a wedding on Friday night.  Lot’s of things coming up and I look forward to sharing them with you.

And there you go!
